Alternatives to FilaOps

There is no single replacement for FilaOps, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. What there is: products that beat it on one specific thing. Each section below answers a different reason for switching, so start with the reason that applies to you.

For context, FilaOps is a manufacturing erp product. The only serious print-farm ERP we found, with gram-level material costing. Its weakest points, in our reading, are: anyone outside additive manufacturing. the whole design assumes printers, and shops that need a genuine open-source license for policy reasons; bsl is not one.

If you are switching for: open source or self-hostable

You can run it yourself and keep the data on your own terms.

  • Excellent free parts-and-BOM control for hardware shops, not a planning engine.

    BOM & inventoryOpen source

Free plan; no published paid price

    • Electronics and hardware shops that need rigorous part, stock-location and BOM control
    • Technical owners who want an MIT license and a real REST API with no vendor in the middle
    • Labs and prototype shops tracking serialized units and test results

InvenTree is MIT-licensed with no use restrictions at all, but knows nothing about printers or filament weight. You would be building the additive parts yourself.

Before you switch anything

  • · Check the export path out of your current system before you commit to the next one.
  • · Price the new system for your real team size and the modules you need, not the headline tier.
  • · Migration is usually the expensive part, and almost nobody budgets for it.
