Minotaur ERP
by CAI Software
Food processing ERP with its own financials, built around meat, dairy and cheese. Notable for saying out loud that it uses supplier lead times to tell you when to place orders, which most of this catalog only implies.
Why it is classified this way
We call this a Manufacturing ERP product. A broad business system (accounting, sales, purchasing) with a substantial manufacturing or planning module attached.
It is not labeled Full MRP because we have not verified that it represents a bill of materials, recipe, or formula; accepts dated demand, sales orders, a forecast, or a master production schedule; nets that demand against stock on hand and orders already incoming; explodes requirements through at least one level of the bill of materials; and produces dated buy, make, transfer, release, or reschedule recommendations. That is a statement about the evidence we found, not a claim that the product is weak, see the capability table and the sources below.
The six Full MRP tests, and how Minotaur ERP does on each (1 of 6)
- UnknownIt represents a bill of materials, recipe, or formula. Not established. No evidence found yet.
- PartialIt accepts dated demand, sales orders, a forecast, or a master production schedule. Not established. Only partly shown: the evidence covers some of this but not all of it, so the test is not established.

These rules are applied identically to every product and enforced at build time, a record cannot be published as Full MRP unless all six pass with a source attached. Read the methodology.
Best for
- Meat, dairy and cheese processors who need lot and serial traceability across sites
- Shops that want ordering timed against supplier lead times rather than reordering on a hunch
- Processors who would rather not run separate accounting software
Not a fit when
- Anyone needing a published price, since CAI quotes on request
- Makers outside food processing, since the product is built around meat, dairy and produce

Editorial notes and cautions
Things we would want a friend to know before buying.
- CAI Software sells both Minotaur and Food Connex. CAI positions Food Connex as cloud ERP for food distributors, processors and manufacturers that leans on QuickBooks: "Plus, with seamless integration to QuickBooks, Food Connex simplifies your accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial management alongside your operational efficiency." Minotaur is aimed at meat, dairy and food processors and carries its own General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Neither page publishes a price, so ask which one you are being quoted for.
Evidence and verification
Read from the vendor's product page. The lead time claim is unusually specific for this catalog and is recorded as yes on the strength of its wording. Whether that produces a dated instruction or simply a screen a human reads is the open question, and it is the difference between this and Full MRP.

What we still want to confirm
We publish our gaps rather than hiding them. If you can point us at a first-party page for any of these, we will update the record and credit the correction.
- Get pricing. Neither Minotaur nor Food Connex has a published price on caisoft.com; it needs a demo or quote.
- Establish whether ordering guidance carries dates or only quantities. The only public statement is that the system helps you know when to place orders; needs a demo.
- Confirm whether formulas or recipes exist as objects. The Minotaur page names only production plans and yields; needs a demo.
Still unknown: counts incoming orders, capacity planning, bill of materials, multi-level bom, recipes & formulas, work / manufacturing orders, routings & operations, ecommerce connection, api, webhooks, mcp support, csv export, full data export.
