RoastConsole
by Farspeak Labs LLC (d/b/a RoastConsole)
Coffee roastery software that follows green coffee from intake through each roast to packed bags and invoices: green lots lose weight as you roast, roasted stock is held by batch, and a roast plan works out the gap between open orders and stock. One plan with every feature, priced on roasted weight.
Why it is classified this way
We call this a Batch / process manufacturing product. Built around recipes or formulas, batch runs, and lot genealogy. May or may not include full time-phased planning.
It is not labeled Full MRP because we have not verified that it accepts dated demand, sales orders, a forecast, or a master production schedule; nets that demand against stock on hand and orders already incoming; explodes requirements through at least one level of the bill of materials; uses lead times or required dates; and produces dated buy, make, transfer, release, or reschedule recommendations. That is a statement about the evidence we found, not a claim that the product is weak, see the capability table and the sources below.

- PartialIt accepts dated demand, sales orders, a forecast, or a master production schedule. Not established. Only partly shown: the evidence covers some of this but not all of it, so the test is not established.

These rules are applied identically to every product and enforced at build time, a record cannot be published as Full MRP unless all six pass with a source attached. Read the methodology.
Best for
- Coffee roasters who want each roast to take its weight off the green lot it came from, with no re-entry
- Wholesale roasters who need orders, packing runs and invoices tied to the batch that filled them
- Small roasteries that want every feature on one plan instead of paying for tiers and add-ons
Not a fit when
- Makers outside coffee roasting: the product is built around green coffee, roast profiles and cupping
- Buyers who need dated purchase suggestions with supplier lead times; no page describes that

Plans
| Plan | Price | Add-ons and setup |
|---|---|---|
| CloudBilled monthly | $79/mo | — |
| Includes 220 lb (100 kg) roasted a month; every pound above that is metered at 8¢ falling to 2¢ by volume band. The per-pound fee is on top of the base, so a roaster doing 1,000 lb a month pays about $79 + 280 lb × 8¢ + 500 lb × 7¢ = $136.40 by the published rate card (our arithmetic). Fits any volume up to 25,000 lb a month; above that the vendor quotes. | ||

Pricing detail
One Cloud plan at $79 a month, month to month, with unlimited team members, roasters and sites. The base covers the first 220 lb (100 kg) roasted each month. Above that, each pound is billed at its own band's rate: 8¢ from 221 to 500 lb, 7¢ to 2,000 lb, 6¢ to 5,500 lb, 5¢ to 15,000 lb, 3.5¢ to 25,000 lb and 2¢ above that. Usage is metered on roasted weight, billed in arrears on a rolling average. The page also shows prices in EUR and GBP. Pilot for Mac (the roasting app) and Mobile for iOS are free downloads; Pilot on its own is a roast logger, not the inventory system.

Working out what to buy or make, and when.
| Capability | Finding | What we found |
|---|---|---|
| Accepts dated demandYou can tell it what is due and when, sales orders with dates, a forecast, or a production schedule. | Partial | Open wholesale orders drive the roast plan: "Open orders and current stock decide what needs roasting and in what order." The pages do not describe forecasts or due dates shaping the plan.Reviewed October 9, 2026. | Nets against stock on handIt subtracts what you already have before telling you to buy more. | Yes | "Read demand against roasted stock, expose the gap, and turn the deficit into production orders in one step." The plan view adds: "Suggested quantities come from demand less available stock, rounded to batch size."Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: roastconsole.com › Production and planning(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Counts incoming ordersIt knows about purchase orders and production orders already placed, so it does not tell you to order twice. | Unknown | Not yet researched. We would need: documentation showing open purchase or production orders included in the supply picture.Know the answer? |
| Uses lead timesIt works backwards from when you need something to when you must order or start it, using supplier and production lead times. | Unknown | Not yet researched. We would need: documentation showing lead time fields that shift a suggested order or start date.Know the answer? |
| Produces dated buy/make suggestionsThe output is an actionable list with dates, order this much by this date, start this batch on this date. | Partial | The vendor says the plan "proposes": "The roast plan computes the deficit between open orders and current stock, and the Roaster Engine suggests quantities from demand and stock." Green lots show days of cover against a reorder point, but no page describes dated purchase suggestions.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Editorial notes and cautions
Things we would want a friend to know before buying.
- This is a coffee-roasting specialist. The directory has no coffee industry value yet, so it is filed under food and beverage.
- The $79 base covers only the first 220 lb roasted each month; every pound above that adds 2¢ to 8¢, so check the rate card against your monthly roasted volume.
- Several capability claims rest on the vendor's own marketing and FAQ pages; we found no separate help center or documentation site.
Alternatives to RoastConsole
An alternative is always an alternative for a reason. There is no universal replacement.
Inventora is a general maker inventory tool that starts far cheaper; a very small roaster who only needs ingredient stock and product costs, without roast curves, cupping or a wholesale portal, could start there.
Evidence and verification
Why this record is not Verified. Held at partially verified on purpose: every claim rests on the vendor's marketing and FAQ pages, and we found no documentation or help center to check them against.
Researched 2026-10-09 from the pricing page (rate card read from the page text), the capability pages for inventory, production, finance, commercial and quality, and the integrations page. FAQ answers were read from the pages' own structured data. RoastConsole is a coffee-roasting specialist; we file it under food and beverage until the taxonomy has a coffee value.

What we still want to confirm
We publish our gaps rather than hiding them. If you can point us at a first-party page for any of these, we will update the record and credit the correction.
- Find documentation on whether the roast plan counts incoming green coffee purchases and supplier lead times.
- Confirm whether production plans nest (blends made from roasted components) and how deep.
- Confirm expiry or roast-date handling for roasted stock, and CSV export beyond roast logs.
- Confirm onboarding or migration fees for the Cloud plan.
Still unknown: counts incoming orders, uses lead times, multi-level bom, routings & operations, expiry & shelf life, serial numbers.
