Lot traceability and recalls

You need to trace a suspect material lot forward to every customer who received product containing it, and backwards from a complaint to the batch and the ingredients. For food, cosmetics and regulated hardware this is not a nice-to-have; it is the reason you are buying software.

What to check before you choose

  • Can you run the trace in one query, under time pressure, or does it take an afternoon of cross-referencing?
  • Does traceability survive into packaging and shipping records, or stop at the finished-goods bin?
  • Is lot tracking included, or is it a paid add-on? On several products here it costs extra.
  • Can you run a recall drill on it before you commit?

Where people get this wrong

Buying a product where lot numbers exist as a text field but nothing connects them. Storing a lot number is easy; genealogy. This lot went into that batch which went to these customers, is the part that matters and the part that is often missing.

92 products fit

Every product here has batch & lot traceability recorded as Yes on first-party evidence. Best-evidenced records come first, never by price or popularity.
