Cim200 Manufacturing

by CIM Software Ltd

Manufacturing ERPPasses all 6 Full MRP testsProprietary on-premise✓ Verified

A manufacturing add-on for Sage 200 Professional: works orders, time-phased MRP with BOM explosion, capacity planning, shop floor data capture and traceability inside Sage 200's own interface, with Sage 200 keeping the ledger and commercial modules.

Why it is classified this way

We call this a Manufacturing ERP product. A broad business system (accounting, sales, purchasing) with a substantial manufacturing or planning module attached.

This product meets our Full MRP tests, but we classify it by its center of gravity rather than its planning engine alone. The capability table below shows the detail.

The six Full MRP tests, and how Cim200 Manufacturing does on each (6 of 6)
  1. YesIt represents a bill of materials, recipe, or formula.Evidence: cim-software.co.uk › Cim200(opens in a new tab); cim-software.co.uk › Works orders(opens in a new tab)
  2. YesIt accepts dated demand, sales orders, a forecast, or a master production schedule.Evidence: cim-software.co.uk › Planning(opens in a new tab); cim-software.co.uk › Time phased(opens in a new tab)
  3. YesIt nets that demand against stock on hand and orders already incoming.Evidence: cim-software.co.uk › Refresh mrp(opens in a new tab)
  4. YesIt explodes requirements through at least one level of the bill of materials.Evidence: cim-software.co.uk › Refresh mrp(opens in a new tab)"When MRP identifies a shortage for a built item it explodes the BOM into component parts, through sub-assembly BOMs to the lowest level."
  5. YesIt uses lead times or required dates.Evidence: cim-software.co.uk › Refresh mrp(opens in a new tab); cim-software.co.uk › Maintain mrp recommendation(opens in a new tab)
  6. YesIt produces dated buy, make, transfer, release, or reschedule recommendations.Evidence: cim-software.co.uk › Maintain mrp recommendation(opens in a new tab); cim-software.co.uk › Refresh mrp(opens in a new tab)

These rules are applied identically to every product and enforced at build time, a record cannot be published as Full MRP unless all six pass with a source attached. Read the methodology.

Best for

  • UK manufacturers on Sage 200 Professional who want MRP and works orders in the same interface
  • Businesses leaving Sage 200 Manufacturing, Sicon, Sage 1000 or Swan, which have migration tools
  • Multi-site operations that need warehouse-hierarchy planning and a graphical scheduler

Not a fit when

  • Anyone not willing to run Sage 200 Professional, which Cim200 depends on
  • Very small shops, for whom Cim50 on Sage 50 is the vendor's own lighter option

Editorial notes and cautions

Things we would want a friend to know before buying.

  • The £526.50 a month is Cim200 alone; Sage 200 Professional is a separate subscription and the page does not say how many users the Cim200 price covers.
  • Deployment follows Sage 200 Professional, which is installed software; the vendor offers hosted virtual desktops as an option.

What we still want to confirm

We publish our gaps rather than hiding them. If you can point us at a first-party page for any of these, we will update the record and credit the correction.

  • Confirm how many users the £526.50 monthly subscription covers, and the price of extra users or modules.
  • Check expiry dates, recipes, an API and e-commerce connectors.
  • Confirm whether a hosted or cloud Sage 200 deployment is supported beyond virtual desktops.

Still unknown: recipes & formulas, expiry & shelf life, ecommerce connection, api, webhooks, mcp support, full data export.
