RoasterTools
by RoasterTools, Inc.
Sales and operations software for wholesale coffee roasters: orders from a wholesale portal and webstores become a daily plan of roast, blend, label and package tasks, and completing those tasks moves stock from green to roasted to packaged. Priced by pounds roasted, with unlimited users.
Why it is classified this way
We call this a Batch / process manufacturing product. Built around recipes or formulas, batch runs, and lot genealogy. May or may not include full time-phased planning.
It is not labeled Full MRP because we have not verified that it nets that demand against stock on hand and orders already incoming; uses lead times or required dates; and produces dated buy, make, transfer, release, or reschedule recommendations. That is a statement about the evidence we found, not a claim that the product is weak, see the capability table and the sources below.
The six Full MRP tests, and how RoasterTools does on each (3 of 6)
- YesIt represents a bill of materials, recipe, or formula.Evidence: help.roastertools.com › Roasts vs products whats the difference(opens in a new tab)
- YesIt accepts dated demand, sales orders, a forecast, or a master production schedule.Evidence: roastertools.com › Calculate demand(opens in a new tab)
- PartialIt nets that demand against stock on hand and orders already incoming. Not established. No evidence found yet.
- YesIt explodes requirements through at least one level of the bill of materials.Evidence: roastertools.com › Calculate demand(opens in a new tab)Demand is rolled down through blends to roasts: "The calculator seamlessly determines the total roasting quantity needed, regardless of how many different blends or products it's used in."
- UnknownIt uses lead times or required dates. Not established. No evidence found yet.
- PartialIt produces dated buy, make, transfer, release, or reschedule recommendations. Not established. Only partly shown: the evidence covers some of this but not all of it, so the test is not established.
These rules are applied identically to every product and enforced at build time, a record cannot be published as Full MRP unless all six pass with a source attached. Read the methodology.

Editorial notes and cautions
Things we would want a friend to know before buying.
- This is a coffee-roasting specialist. The directory has no coffee industry value yet, so it is filed under food and beverage.
- Every plan meters pounds roasted: Essentials includes 1,000 lb a month and charges $0.10 for each extra pound, so a busy month raises the bill.
- Green coffee is costed at a weighted average, not per lot, and the help center says some accounts had to correct their costs after a calculation error was fixed.
- The pricing page and help center disagree on accounting connection fees; confirm before signing up.
Alternatives to RoasterTools
An alternative is always an alternative for a reason. There is no universal replacement.
- StocksmithStronger batch & traceability
Stocksmith records lot numbers through production and into finished goods, which RoasterTools only offers for green coffee through a paid audit report; a roaster who needs recall-ready lot records may find it closer, without the coffee-specific demand planning.
Evidence and verification
Why this record is not Verified. Held at partially verified: the pricing page contradicts itself and the help center on billing terms and accounting fees, and API access and lot handling for roasted coffee are unconfirmed.
Researched 2026-10-09 from the pricing page (figures read from the page text in both the monthly and yearly views), the feature pages and the help center articles on green coffee, inventory, roasts, costs and exports. RoasterTools is a coffee-roasting specialist; we file it under food and beverage until the taxonomy has a coffee value.

What we still want to confirm
We publish our gaps rather than hiding them. If you can point us at a first-party page for any of these, we will update the record and credit the correction.
- Confirm whether RoasterTools has a public API or webhooks; the help center mentions only ShipStation API keys.
- Confirm whether roasted and packaged stock carry lot numbers or roast dates, and how expiry is handled.
- Confirm which plans include the Green Coffee Audit Report add-on and what it costs.
- Confirm the accounting connection price (the pricing page and help center differ) and whether a full data export exists.
Still unknown: counts incoming orders, uses lead times, quality controls, expiry & shelf life, serial numbers, api, webhooks, mcp support, full data export.
