Brahmin Solutions

by Brahmin Solutions

Batch / process manufacturingProprietary SaaS✓ Verified

Inventory and light manufacturing aimed at food, beverage, cosmetics and supplement brands, priced with unlimited users on every plan, but with multi-level BOMs, batch tracking and forecasting each sold as separate monthly add-ons.

Why it is classified this way

We call this a Batch / process manufacturing product. Built around recipes or formulas, batch runs, and lot genealogy. May or may not include full time-phased planning.

It is not labeled Full MRP because we have not verified that it nets that demand against stock on hand and orders already incoming; explodes requirements through at least one level of the bill of materials; uses lead times or required dates; and produces dated buy, make, transfer, release, or reschedule recommendations. That is a statement about the evidence we found, not a claim that the product is weak, see the capability table and the sources below.

The six Full MRP tests, and how Brahmin Solutions does on each (2 of 6)
  1. YesIt represents a bill of materials, recipe, or formula.Evidence: brahmin-solutions.com(opens in a new tab); support.brahmin-solutions.com › What is a bill of materials product recipe(opens in a new tab)
  2. YesIt accepts dated demand, sales orders, a forecast, or a master production schedule.Evidence: support.brahmin-solutions.com › Use the sales calendar(opens in a new tab)
  3. PartialIt nets that demand against stock on hand and orders already incoming. Not established. Only partly shown: the evidence covers some of this but not all of it, so the test is not established.
  4. UnknownIt explodes requirements through at least one level of the bill of materials. Not established. No evidence found yet.
  5. PartialIt uses lead times or required dates. Not established. Only partly shown: the evidence covers some of this but not all of it, so the test is not established.
  6. PartialIt produces dated buy, make, transfer, release, or reschedule recommendations. Not established. Only partly shown: the evidence covers some of this but not all of it, so the test is not established.

These rules are applied identically to every product and enforced at build time, a record cannot be published as Full MRP unless all six pass with a source attached. Read the methodology.

Best for

  • CPG brands selling wholesale and direct who want warehouse and 3PL visibility alongside production
  • Teams that would be punished by per-seat pricing, users are unlimited on every plan
  • Shops that need multi-location and co-manufacturing tracking

Not a fit when

  • Budget-sensitive small makers, once the add-ons are counted
  • Anyone needing time-phased planning; the documented replenishment is reorder-point, with no dates on its suggestions
  • Buyers who dislike paying monthly for features competitors include as standard

Advertised from

$199/month

Useful entry price

$337/month

Billing basis

Per module

Why the useful price is higher

Starter at $199 is only sold to businesses under $1M in annual revenue. A food or cosmetics brand also needs the Manufacturing Pro add-on for multi-level BOMs (+$100/month) and Compliance Essentials for lot and expiry tracking (+$38/month), so $337 a month. Those add-on rates are the 50% startup discount. At $1M revenue and above the entry plan is Growth at $499 and the same add-ons cost $200 and $75, so $774 a month, or Pro at $999 with every add-on included.

Free trial: 14 days.

What moves the real bill

  • Required add-ons. The manufacturing capability needs: Manufacturing Pro, for multi-level BOMs ($100/mo under $1M revenue, $200/mo above), Compliance Essentials, for lot, serial and expiry tracking ($38/mo under $1M revenue, $75/mo above).
  • Onboarding fee. Optional one-off services: Advanced Workflow Setup $1,500, Data Migration $2,500, On-Site Training $5,000.
  • Priced per module. The base plan is not the whole system. Check which modules you need.

Pricing detail

Starter $199/month (businesses under $1M revenue only, monthly billing only), Growth $499/month ($449 billed annually), Pro $999/month ($899 billed annually), Enterprise on quote. Unlimited users and products on every plan, which is a genuine strength. The catch is the add-on menu on Starter and Growth: Manufacturing Pro (multi-level BOMs, labour costing), Compliance Essentials (lot, serial and expiry tracking) and Planning & Analytics (forecasting, KPIs). Under $1M revenue they cost $100, $38 and $50 a month, and the page says a business keeps that startup pricing for 6 months after passing $1M. At full price they are $200, $75 and $100. Pro and Enterprise include all three. Businesses under $1M get a 14-day free trial of Starter; Growth and Pro come with a 30-day money-back guarantee instead.

CapabilityFindingWhat we found
Accepts dated demandYou can tell it what is due and when, sales orders with dates, a forecast, or a production schedule.YesThe sales calendar guide says: "An order sits on its ship-by date — the day you promised it." Sales orders carry a due date, but nothing documents the reorder or make-to-stock reports using those dates. Checked 2026-09-18.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: support.brahmin-solutions.com › Use the sales calendar(opens in a new tab)Question this
Nets against stock on handIt subtracts what you already have before telling you to buy more.PartialThe reorder report guide says: "Remember Available is not the same as On Hand — stock already promised to a customer order does not count as available to sell again." Available and expected stock are compared with a minimum level, not netted against dated requirements from demand.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: support.brahmin-solutions.com › Why is this item on my reorder report(opens in a new tab)Question this
Counts incoming ordersIt knows about purchase orders and production orders already placed, so it does not tell you to order twice.YesThe reorder report guide says: "An item appears when it is below its minimum and there is not enough already on order to cover it." Open purchase orders, inbound shipments and manufacturing completions count as expected stock. This feeds a reorder-point check, not a time-phased plan. Checked 2026-09-18.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: support.brahmin-solutions.com › Why is this item on my reorder report(opens in a new tab)Question this
Uses lead timesIt works backwards from when you need something to when you must order or start it, using supplier and production lead times.PartialThe reorder point guide gives the formula "Min = (Processing + Safety + Lead Time) × Velocity × Growth", available when advanced planning is enabled. Supplier lead time sizes the reorder point but does not set a date on the suggested order.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: support.brahmin-solutions.com › Reorder points inventory planning(opens in a new tab)Question this
Produces dated buy/make suggestionsThe output is an actionable list with dates, order this much by this date, start this batch on this date.PartialThe vendor's help center states: "The reorder report lists everything that has fallen below its minimum, and tells you how much to buy." It can raise draft purchase orders per vendor, but the documented columns include no date for when to order.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: support.brahmin-solutions.com › Read the reorder report(opens in a new tab)Question this
Capacity planningChecks whether your people and machines can do the work in the time available.NoThe pricing page's Manufacturing Pro add-on description reads "Multi-level BOMs, advanced scheduling (coming soon), labor costing." So advanced scheduling has not shipped, even though the plan comparison table still shows "Advanced" scheduling for Pro and Enterprise. Basic scheduling is not capacity planning, and nothing documents a check against resource capacity. Checked 2026-09-18.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Multi-level BOMSub-assemblies inside assemblies, a part that is itself made from other parts, nested as deep as you need.YesMulti-level BOMs are listed explicitly. Recipes & formulasBatch-style production by weight, volume, or percentage, including scaling a batch up or down.PartialThe vendor's help center states: "Bill Of Material (also known as product recipe) is a list of ingredients (materials and subassemblies) and the quantities you use in order to create your product." Recipe is another name for the BOM; there is no separate formula record or batch scaling documented.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Work / manufacturing ordersA record authorising and tracking the making of a specific quantity.YesWork order tracking is stated, with active and completed order counts shown in the product dashboard.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: brahmin-solutions.com(opens in a new tab)Question this
Routings & operationsThe ordered steps a product goes through, and which machine or station does each one.YesThe vendor's help center states: "A Resource is an employee or a workstation, for example, that is needed to complete a Production Operation step. In the Operations section of the Bill Of Materials, you can assign a Resource to each Operation step." Operation steps sit on the BOM and carry into manufacturing orders. Their order is implied by the word step rather than documented, and the articles date from 2021. Checked 2026-09-18.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Inventory & traceability

Knowing what you hold and being able to trace it.

Inventory & traceability capabilities, with our finding and its source for each.
CapabilityFindingWhat we found
Batch & lot traceabilityWhich incoming material lots went into which finished batch, and where those finished goods went.Yes"Batch & lot visibility" is stated, but lot tracking sits in the Compliance Essentials add-on on Starter and Growth ($38/month under $1M revenue, $75/month above) rather than being a standard feature.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: brahmin-solutions.com(opens in a new tab); brahmin-solutions.com › Pricing(opens in a new tab)Question this
Expiry & shelf lifeBest-before dates on materials and finished goods, with warnings before they lapse.YesThe vendor states: "In Brahmin, every ingredient batch gets a lot number at receiving with its expiry date recorded in the system. When it's time to pick materials for production, the system enforces FEFO (first-expired, first-out) rotation automatically — your team picks the batch closest to expiry first, not whichever one is easiest to reach." From the vendor's blog, which also describes sell-by expiry alerts. Checked 2026-09-14. The help center's article on receiving items with an expiry date documents the expiry field at receiving and a Batch / Expiry report, and says: "The expiry date does not affect your stock count or your cost. It is there so you can find the stock later." It documents no alert or warning, so the FEFO and alert claims rest on the blog alone. Checked 2026-09-18.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Serial numbersUnique identifiers on individual units, for warranty or field service.YesThe vendor's help center states: "Example: Qty of 5 with a unique tracking field must be mapped with 5 unique tracking values and a non-unique tracking field doesn't have that restriction." Serials are a unique tracking field rather than a dedicated serial record, and tracking can only be switched on for a new product. The pricing page lists serial number tracking under the Compliance Essentials add-on on Starter and Growth. Checked 2026-09-18.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Editorial notes and cautions

Things we would want a friend to know before buying.

  • Charging extra for lot tracking ($38 a month under $1M revenue, $75 above), to an audience of food and cosmetics producers who legally need it, is the kind of pricing this directory exists to make visible. Add it to the base price before you compare.
  • Unlimited users is a genuine offset. For a fifteen-person operation, $337 all-in under $1M revenue, or $774 above it, can still beat a per-seat competitor.
  • Onboarding services run from $1,500 to $5,000 and are optional, confirm which, if any, a quote assumes.

Evidence and verification

✓ VerifiedLast checked October 9, 2026 · 80% of capability fields resolved · 100% of those carry a source

Pricing and add-on structure are precisely sourced, which is the most decision-relevant part of this record. Until 2026-09-18 our add-on figures were the 50% startup rates without saying so; both rates are now shown. Since 2026-09-18 capabilities also draw on the vendor's public help center, though many of its articles date from 2017 to 2021 and the vendor rebuilt reports and is redesigning manufacturing in 2026.

Sources we checked (14)

What we still want to confirm

We publish our gaps rather than hiding them. If you can point us at a first-party page for any of these, we will update the record and credit the correction.

  • Find help-center documentation of expiry alerts and FEFO picking. The help center now documents the expiry field and a Batch / Expiry report, but says nothing about warnings, so those claims still rest on a vendor blog post.
  • Ask the vendor which tier the private API needs. No public API docs existed on 2026-09-18, and the pricing page does not say.
  • Re-check routings, operations and capacity when the redesigned Manufacturing module ships. The August 2026 release notes still list it under 'Still to come this year', and the pricing page marks advanced scheduling 'coming soon'.
  • Confirm in the app that reports still export to Excel after the 2026 reports rebuild. The only statement of PDF and Excel export is a 2017 article, and the August 2026 notes do not mention export.
  • Ask the vendor or check an account for which tier 'advanced planning' (lead time in reorder points) needs. The reorder-points article does not name a tier, and the pricing page never uses the term.

Still unknown: shop-floor tracking, quality controls, webhooks, mcp support, full data export.
