BrauMo

by BrauMo (Berlin)

Batch / process manufacturingProprietary on-premisePartially verified

Kombucha, water kefir and vinegar brewing software that installs on one Mac or Windows computer in the brewery and serves every phone, tablet and laptop on the local network: cultures, F1 to F2 batches, HACCP records, lots with best-before dates, recipes netted against stock into draft purchase orders, and invoicing with DATEV and XRechnung exports. One flat price per brewery.

Why it is classified this way

We call this a Batch / process manufacturing product. Built around recipes or formulas, batch runs, and lot genealogy. May or may not include full time-phased planning.

It is not labeled Full MRP because we have not verified that it accepts dated demand, sales orders, a forecast, or a master production schedule; nets that demand against stock on hand and orders already incoming; uses lead times or required dates; and produces dated buy, make, transfer, release, or reschedule recommendations. That is a statement about the evidence we found, not a claim that the product is weak, see the capability table and the sources below.

The six Full MRP tests, and how BrauMo does on each (2 of 6)
  1. YesIt represents a bill of materials, recipe, or formula.Evidence: braumo.com(opens in a new tab); braumo.com › Tour(opens in a new tab)
  2. PartialIt accepts dated demand, sales orders, a forecast, or a master production schedule. Not established. Only partly shown: the evidence covers some of this but not all of it, so the test is not established.
  3. PartialIt nets that demand against stock on hand and orders already incoming. Not established. No evidence found yet.
  4. YesIt explodes requirements through at least one level of the bill of materials.Evidence: braumo.com(opens in a new tab); braumo.com › Tour(opens in a new tab)"Recipes explode into what to buy, netted against stock." The tour: "Plan the next brew: Scale the recipe to the tank, print the brew sheet, and see what stock the brew will need."
  5. PartialIt uses lead times or required dates. Not established. Only partly shown: the evidence covers some of this but not all of it, so the test is not established.
  6. PartialIt produces dated buy, make, transfer, release, or reschedule recommendations. Not established. Only partly shown: the evidence covers some of this but not all of it, so the test is not established.

These rules are applied identically to every product and enforced at build time, a record cannot be published as Full MRP unless all six pass with a source attached. Read the methodology.

Best for

  • Kombucha, water kefir and vinegar makers who want cultures, F1 to F2 batches, HACCP records and stock in one app built for those products
  • Small breweries that want the data on a computer in the building, working offline, at one flat price with unlimited users
  • German producers who need XRechnung e-invoices, Lieferschein and DATEV exports from the same records

Not a fit when

  • Beer, spirits or wine producers: the product is built around living cultures, pH and acidification, and the vendor sends beer breweries elsewhere
  • Teams spread across several sites who want the vendor to host the data; the vendor itself says cloud software serves that case better
  • Anyone who needs a general ledger, a live accounting sync or a documented API

Pricing detail

One flat price per brewery with unlimited users and every feature; the price follows the billing country. EU prices are the ones printed by default: €45 a month billed yearly (€540 a year, our arithmetic) or €60 billed monthly, both labeled "Founding price while places last" against a stated regular price of €59 a month billed yearly (€708 a year) and €79 billed monthly. The page's pricing script also carries two US-dollar regions: International (USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan and every country not listed elsewhere) at $35 a month billed yearly ($49 regular, $588 a year) or $45 monthly ($65 regular), and Emerging markets (Latin America, South and Southeast Asia, Africa) at $19 billed yearly ($29 regular, $348 a year) or $26 monthly ($39 regular). The water kefir, vinegar and continuous brewing pages print the regular prices: "In the EU that is €59 a month on the yearly plan or €79 month to month; in emerging markets, US$29 or US$39." Net prices, tax added at checkout, sold to businesses only. The 21-day trial needs no card; after it, or if you cancel, the app "switches to read-only: everything stays viewable and exportable". The one paid extra is the optional spreadsheet migration at €390 / $420.

Editorial notes and cautions

Things we would want a friend to know before buying.

  • The €45 and €60 figures are a "Founding price while places last". The page states the regular price beside them: €59 a month billed yearly (€708 a year) and €79 billed monthly, so budget for the regular rate.
  • BrauMo runs on one Mac or Windows computer in the brewery that has to stay plugged in and awake: "while it sleeps, nobody else can reach the app." Backups to a second drive or synced folder are yours to set up, and the vendor says not to install a second copy.
  • Prices follow the billing country. The International and Emerging-markets USD prices are in the pricing page's script and show only after picking a region; the page opens on EU prices.
  • Most capability evidence is the vendor's own marketing pages plus its public changelog; the in-app help is offline only and there is no public manual. We did not run the trial.
  • Accounting is by file export. DATEV and XRechnung are built for German breweries; the QuickBooks IIF and Xero CSV exports for US breweries appear only in a changelog entry.

Alternatives to BrauMo

An alternative is always an alternative for a reason. There is no universal replacement.

  • BrewwBetter commerce & accounting connection

Breww posts invoices and stock journals to QuickBooks Online or Xero as a live sync, where BrauMo hands your accountant export files; it is built for beer rather than kombucha.

  • Beer30's sibling Bucha30 is the cloud kombucha system from the same vendor family; a brewery that wants the vendor to host the data rather than run it on a computer in the building would look there, at a far higher from-price.

See all alternatives to BrauMo, grouped by reason →

Evidence and verification

Partially verifiedLast checked October 10, 2026 · 80% of capability fields resolved · 100% of those carry a source

Why this record is not Verified. Held at partially verified on purpose: the capability claims rest on marketing pages and changelog entries rather than a manual, and the pricing is a promotional founding rate.

Researched 2026-10-10 from the home, pricing, tour, getting started, HACCP, bookkeeping, continuous brewing, compare, switching, remote access, agent, water kefir and vinegar pages, the public changelog and its JSON archive (releases since v356); regional and monthly prices were read from the pricing page's own script, since the static page shows only the EU yearly state. The in-app help is offline only and was not read, and we did not run the trial.

What we still want to confirm

We publish our gaps rather than hiding them. If you can point us at a first-party page for any of these, we will update the record and credit the correction.

  • Confirm the monthly founding price of €60 at the checkout; the static pricing markup shows only the yearly state, and the figure comes from the page's pricing script.
  • Confirm whether What to buy counts open purchase orders and uses the supplier lead time to date its suggestions.
  • Confirm whether a recipe can nest another recipe, for example a tea blend inside a kombucha recipe.
  • Confirm whether the Shopify and Zettle sync pushes stock levels back to the store or only pulls orders.
  • Confirm the QuickBooks IIF and Xero CSV exports on a current build; the only mention is changelog v460.
  • Confirm whether any documented API or webhooks exist beyond read-only MCP agent access, and whether kegs carry serial numbers.
  • Read the in-app help from a trial install.

Still unknown: counts incoming orders, routings & operations, serial numbers, api, webhooks.
