DBA Manufacturing

by DBA

Full MRPProprietary on-premise✓ Verified

Windows manufacturing software for make-to-order and job shops, bought as a license rather than rented. Its demand-driven MRP backward-schedules jobs and purchase orders from sales-order dates and lead times, alongside routings, labor reporting and absorption costing.

Why it is classified this way

We call this a Full MRP product. Verified to take dated demand, net it against stock and incoming orders, explode a bill of materials, apply lead times, and produce dated buy-or-make recommendations.

This product meets all six of our Full MRP tests, and each one is backed by a first-party page we link below.

The six Full MRP tests, and how DBA Manufacturing does on each (6 of 6)
  1. YesIt represents a bill of materials, recipe, or formula.Evidence: dbamanufacturing.com › Workflow(opens in a new tab)
  2. YesIt accepts dated demand, sales orders, a forecast, or a master production schedule.Evidence: documents.dbamanufacturing.com › MRPGuide.pdf(opens in a new tab)
  3. YesIt nets that demand against stock on hand and orders already incoming.Evidence: documents.dbamanufacturing.com › MRPGuide.pdf(opens in a new tab)
  4. YesIt explodes requirements through at least one level of the bill of materials.Evidence: documents.dbamanufacturing.com › MRPGuide.pdf(opens in a new tab); dbamanufacturing.com › Workflow(opens in a new tab)The MRP guide: "Demand Driven MRP generates lower level requirements from actual job details, which can be customized to order", and the workflow page says MRP "will proceed through all levels of production and align subassemblies and components with the planned start of your jobs." Scope: requirements come from each job's own materials, not a forecast explosion. Checked 2026-09-19.
  5. YesIt uses lead times or required dates.Evidence: documents.dbamanufacturing.com › MRPGuide.pdf(opens in a new tab)
  6. YesIt produces dated buy, make, transfer, release, or reschedule recommendations.Evidence: documents.dbamanufacturing.com › MRPGuide.pdf(opens in a new tab)

These rules are applied identically to every product and enforced at build time, a record cannot be published as Full MRP unless all six pass with a source attached. Read the methodology.

Best for

  • Make-to-order and engineer-to-order shops that want jobs and purchase orders dated from sales-order required dates
  • Companies that want to keep their existing accounting system
  • Buyers who prefer a one-off license and their own server to a subscription

Not a fit when

  • Teams wanting a browser-based cloud system: it runs on a Windows network, with remote access through Remote Desktop
  • Batch and formula producers: recipes and expiry dates are not documented

What moves the real bill

  • Minimum 5 users. You cannot buy fewer seats than this, even if fewer people need access.

Pricing detail

"New System = $2995 Per 5-User Pack", which includes nine months of support and the first year's license; the vendor sells the complete system, not modules. Extra users are $699 each when buying 1-4, $599 each for 5-9 and $499 each for 10 or more. After the first year, the annual license is "a required fee" of $105 per user a year (three-user minimum). Support is expected for the life of the system at $330 per six months, or $495 to restart a lapsed subscription. A 180-day return policy covers the first purchase. We do not convert the purchase price into a monthly rate.

Editorial notes and cautions

Things we would want a friend to know before buying.

  • MRP here is demand-driven: it responds to current sales orders and reorder points rather than exploding a forecast. The vendor argues this suits custom work; shops that plan from forecasts should check it fits.

What we still want to confirm

We publish our gaps rather than hiding them. If you can point us at a first-party page for any of these, we will update the record and credit the correction.

  • Read the Inventory Control guide to confirm forward and backward lot tracing and serial workflows.
  • Check capacity planning against load, recipes, expiry dates, API and export options.

Still unknown: recipes & formulas, expiry & shelf life, ecommerce connection, api, webhooks, mcp support, csv export.
