Order Time Inventory
by NumberCruncher.com, Inc.
Cloud inventory, orders and light manufacturing with nested bills of materials, work orders with steps, lot, serial and expiry tracking, and a forecast-driven MRP run that offsets demand by lead time. Accounting stays in QuickBooks or Xero.
Why it is classified this way
We call this a Full MRP product. Verified to take dated demand, net it against stock and incoming orders, explode a bill of materials, apply lead times, and produce dated buy-or-make recommendations.
This product meets all six of our Full MRP tests, and each one is backed by a first-party page we link below.

These rules are applied identically to every product and enforced at build time, a record cannot be published as Full MRP unless all six pass with a source attached. Read the methodology.
Best for
- Assemblers and light manufacturers who want forecast-driven production and purchasing plans offset by lead time
- Teams with nested sub-assemblies that want work orders created for every level in one step
- Businesses keeping their books in QuickBooks or Xero that need lots, serials and expiry dates on the stock side
Not a fit when
- Shops that need to schedule people and machines against capacity; no capacity planning is documented
- Buyers who need daily planning buckets; the MRP plans by month
- Anyone who wants a shop-floor terminal for operators; none is documented

Planning
Working out what to buy or make, and when.
| Capability | Finding | What we found |
|---|---|---|
| Accepts dated demandYou can tell it what is due and when, sales orders with dates, a forecast, or a production schedule. | Yes | The MRP run works from a monthly forecast, generated from history or imported, and from existing orders: "When Required in a given period based on the Promise Date is greater than demand quantity, Required will be the demand quantity." Required is open sales orders plus unallocated work-order components.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: help.ordertime.com › Forecasts(opens in a new tab); help.ordertime.com › Reorder analysis(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Nets against stock on handIt subtracts what you already have before telling you to buy more. | Yes | "the Plan Quantity is set so that the period ending available quantity is greater than or equal to 0. For example, when the beginning available quantity is 50 with demand quantity of 120, the plan quantity will be 70."Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: help.ordertime.com › Forecasts(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Counts incoming ordersIt knows about purchase orders and production orders already placed, so it does not tell you to order twice. | Yes | Open purchase orders count by promise date: "When On Order in a given period based on the Promise Date is greater than plan quantity, On Order will be the plan quantity." Reorder Analysis also evaluates available plus on-order stock.Reviewed October 9, 2026. | Uses lead timesIt works backwards from when you need something to when you must order or start it, using supplier and production lead times. | Yes | "The Demand Quantity is the Lead Time adjusted forecasted quantity. For example, when the forecasted quantity is 100 units in September with a lead time of 30 days, the demand quantity will be 100 in August." Make lead time offsets assemblies the same way; the default item vendor supplies the purchase lead time.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: help.ordertime.com › Forecasts(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Produces dated buy/make suggestionsThe output is an actionable list with dates, order this much by this date, start this batch on this date. | Yes | "Running MRP creates Production and/or Purchasing Plans", with a plan quantity per monthly interval (columns marked -D, -P and -EOP) and a red end-of-period shortfall that shows when another order is needed. Buckets are monthly, not daily.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: help.ordertime.com › Forecasts(opens in a new tab)Question this |

Editorial notes and cautions
Things we would want a friend to know before buying.
- The MRP run is new: the Forecasts article was last modified in June 2026, and the pricing page does not list Forecasts or MRP on any bundle. Confirm which bundle includes it before you buy.
- The MRP plans in monthly intervals and is driven by a forecast; open sales orders count only where they exceed the forecast for that period.
- Extra users are sold but not priced on the page, and the API and e-commerce start at the $320 Connected bundle.
Alternatives to Order Time Inventory
An alternative is always an alternative for a reason. There is no universal replacement.
Compared on HandiFox's page, where we wrote: "Order Time also sits beside QuickBooks Online or Desktop, and adds nested BOMs, work orders with steps and an MRP run that offsets demand by lead time."
See all alternatives to Order Time Inventory, grouped by reason →
Evidence and verification
Researched 2026-09-19 from the pricing page (both toggle states read in a browser) and the help center, read in full. All six Full MRP tests pass on the Forecasts article's description of the MRP run, so the record moved from the provisional light-manufacturing guess to Full MRP. The vendor is NumberCruncher.com, which also made All Orders.

What we still want to confirm
We publish our gaps rather than hiding them. If you can point us at a first-party page for any of these, we will update the record and credit the correction.
- Confirm which bundles include the Forecasts and MRP feature, and whether it is generally available.
- Find the price of an additional user on each bundle.
- Check whether planned orders from the MRP run can be turned into purchase or work orders directly.
- Find documentation for a shop-floor or operator interface, and for any capacity planning.
- Find out whether a full account export is offered, and in what format.
Still unknown: capacity planning, shop-floor tracking, mcp support, full data export.
