Cetec ERP
by Cetec
A cloud manufacturing ERP priced per user with every module included: MRP with lead-time dates, work orders, routings, capacity scheduling, lot traceability, quality and its own general ledger, with public documentation for most of it.
Why it is classified this way
We call this a Manufacturing ERP product. A broad business system (accounting, sales, purchasing) with a substantial manufacturing or planning module attached.
This product meets our Full MRP tests, but we classify it by its center of gravity rather than its planning engine alone. The capability table below shows the detail.
The six Full MRP tests, and how Cetec ERP does on each (6 of 6)
- YesIt represents a bill of materials, recipe, or formula.Evidence: cetecerp.com › Cost accounting(opens in a new tab)
- YesIt accepts dated demand, sales orders, a forecast, or a master production schedule.Evidence: cetecerp.com › Purchasing(opens in a new tab); cetecerp.com › Prod scheduling(opens in a new tab)
- YesIt nets that demand against stock on hand and orders already incoming.Evidence: cetecerp.com › Purchasing(opens in a new tab); cetecerp.com › Part records(opens in a new tab)
- YesIt explodes requirements through at least one level of the bill of materials.Evidence: cetecerp.com › Purchasing(opens in a new tab); cetecerp.com › Material planning mrp(opens in a new tab); cetecerp.com › Advanced manufacturing planning(opens in a new tab)MRP gives "a system snapshot of both raw material and subassembly / sub-batch material requirements" from sales-order demand, and the feature page says it plans "against complex, nested bill of materials (BOM) structures." Scope: the core report is refreshed by hand; the $1,000-a-month Advanced Manufacturing Planning upgrade adds a nightly run that re-plans dependent BOM components when a parent work order changes. Checked 2026-09-19.
- YesIt uses lead times or required dates.Evidence: cetecerp.com › Purchasing(opens in a new tab)
- YesIt produces dated buy, make, transfer, release, or reschedule recommendations.Evidence: cetecerp.com › Purchasing(opens in a new tab)
These rules are applied identically to every product and enforced at build time, a record cannot be published as Full MRP unless all six pass with a source attached. Read the methodology.
Best for
- Electronics and discrete manufacturers who want MRP, scheduling, traceability and accounting in one system
- Shops that would rather read the documentation than sit through a demo
- Teams of six or more, where the five-user minimum stops mattering
Not a fit when
- Very small shops, which pay for five users whether or not they have them
- Batch and formula producers: recipes and expiry dates are not documented on the pages we read

Planning
Working out what to buy or make, and when.
| Capability | Finding | What we found |
|---|---|---|
| Accepts dated demandYou can tell it what is due and when, sales orders with dates, a forecast, or a production schedule. | Yes | Sales orders carry a Ship Date and a Work Start Date, and MRP uses the Work Start Date as its Need Date: "Need Date is just another term for Work Start Date in the context of MRP."Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: cetecerp.com › Purchasing(opens in a new tab); cetecerp.com › Prod scheduling(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Nets against stock on handIt subtracts what you already have before telling you to buy more. | Yes | The MRP documentation: "This report is produced by an automated system comparison of demand signals against supply signals, i.e. sales orders against purchase orders, inventory levels, and corresponding material lead times".Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: cetecerp.com › Purchasing(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Counts incoming ordersIt knows about purchase orders and production orders already placed, so it does not tell you to order twice. | Yes | Open purchase orders are the supply side of MRP, and the part waterfall projects stock from "open sales bookings and open vendor PO bookings".Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: cetecerp.com › Purchasing(opens in a new tab); cetecerp.com › Part records(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Uses lead timesIt works backwards from when you need something to when you must order or start it, using supplier and production lead times. | Yes | "The Need Date minus the Lead Time generates the latest possible date for procuring your material."Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: cetecerp.com › Purchasing(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Produces dated buy/make suggestionsThe output is an actionable list with dates, order this much by this date, start this batch on this date. | Yes | Each MRP line has a suggested Need To Buy quantity and a Need Date, and a Leadtime Cushion filter shows items whose latest procurement date falls within the next N days. Lines go onto a purchase quote in one step. The report is refreshed by hand.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: cetecerp.com › Purchasing(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Capacity planningChecks whether your people and machines can do the work in the time available. | Yes | Work locations have capacity minutes on a capacity calendar, and scheduling respects them: Parallel mode "allows as many orders as Num Parallel Segments to be scheduled at a time at this location (capacity minutes permitting.)"Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: cetecerp.com › Schedule modes(opens in a new tab)Question this |

| Multi-level BOMSub-assemblies inside assemblies, a part that is itself made from other parts, nested as deep as you need. | Yes | BOM costing "trickles down into its sub-assemblies if the part is a multilevel BOM".Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: cetecerp.com › Cost accounting(opens in a new tab)Question this |

Source: cetecerp.com › Order processing(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Routings & operationsThe ordered steps a product goes through, and which machine or station does each one. | Yes | Each BOM part has a build path, a sequence of work locations it moves through, with build operations at each.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: cetecerp.com › Shop floor(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Shop-floor trackingOperators report progress, time, and completions as the work happens. | Yes | Order progress is tracked by the work location an order sits in, and shop-floor users for "time tracking and simple data collection" are sold at $25 a month.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Editorial notes and cautions
Things we would want a friend to know before buying.
- The core MRP report is refreshed by hand, and the documentation tells buyers to check each line against the live part waterfall before buying. Nightly regenerative planning of work orders is the separate Advanced Manufacturing Planning upgrade at $1,000 a month.
- Implementation is where the cost can climb. The vendor publishes its own ranges, from $0 for a do-it-yourself launch to $150k+ for a managed project.
Evidence and verification
Researched 2026-09-19 from the vendor's pricing page, launch page and public documentation, read in full rather than summarized. The MRP, costing, scheduling, lot and accounting claims come from the documentation pages, not marketing copy.

What we still want to confirm
We publish our gaps rather than hiding them. If you can point us at a first-party page for any of these, we will update the record and credit the correction.
- Find documentation for recipes or formulas, expiry dates and serial numbers.
- Confirm ecommerce connections, webhooks and export options (CSV and a full account export).
- Check whether Resident Hosting means the software can run on your own server.
Still unknown: recipes & formulas, expiry & shelf life, serial numbers, ecommerce connection, webhooks, mcp support, csv export, full data export.
