Unleashed
Formerly Unleashed Software. If you were searching for that name, this is the same product.
by Unleashed Software
Inventory management with batch and serial tracking on every plan, and an optional production module covering bills of materials, assembly and disassembly, and Kanban production planning. The module is $69 a month on Core and included on Pro.
Why it is classified this way
We call this a Light manufacturing product. Has bills of materials or recipes, consumes stock when you build, and tracks production, but time-phased planning is not verified.
It is not labeled Full MRP because we have not verified that it nets that demand against stock on hand and orders already incoming; explodes requirements through at least one level of the bill of materials; uses lead times or required dates; and produces dated buy, make, transfer, release, or reschedule recommendations. That is a statement about the evidence we found, not a claim that the product is weak, see the capability table and the sources below.

These rules are applied identically to every product and enforced at build time, a record cannot be published as Full MRP unless all six pass with a source attached. Read the methodology.
Best for
- Small brands that want batch and serial tracking without paying for an upgrade to get it
- Teams of three or fewer on Core, where the included seats cover everyone
- Businesses billing in NZD, AUD or GBP who would rather not carry currency risk
Not a fit when
- Growing teams, extra seats at $69 to $89 a month escalate quickly past the base price
- Anyone needing verified planning, routings or capacity

Why the useful price is higher
Core is $399 a month, and Production & Manufacturing (BOMs, assemblies) is a $69 a month module on it, so the cheapest way to manufacture is $468 a month before extra users, order upgrades and onboarding. MRP forecasting is the Advanced Inventory Manager, a further $149 a month on Core. Pro at $729 includes both.

Manufacturing capability

Planning
Working out what to buy or make, and when.
| Capability | Finding | What we found |
|---|---|---|
| Accepts dated demandYou can tell it what is due and when, sales orders with dates, a forecast, or a production schedule. | Yes | Sales orders carry a "RequiredDate" field in the API reference, so demand is recorded with a due date. This is an API field; we have not seen the planning side use it. Checked 2026-09-18.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: apidocs.unleashedsoftware.com › SalesOrders(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Nets against stock on handIt subtracts what you already have before telling you to buy more. | Partial | The API reference defines available quantity as "Quantity on hand - allocated quantity + quantity that can be assembled based on components". That nets allocated stock out of on-hand, but no documented planning run nets demand against it.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: apidocs.unleashedsoftware.com › StockOnHand(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Counts incoming ordersIt knows about purchase orders and production orders already placed, so it does not tell you to order twice. | Partial | Stock on hand in the API includes an "OnPurchase" quantity, so open purchase orders show in the stock picture. Nothing documents them feeding a requirements calculation, and open assemblies are not covered.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: apidocs.unleashedsoftware.com › StockOnHand(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Uses lead timesIt works backwards from when you need something to when you must order or start it, using supplier and production lead times. | Partial | The API change log adds a "LeadTimeDays" field to suppliers and to supplier product codes. In a 2023 vendor video on AIM (Advanced Inventory Manager), lead days size the minimum stock level: "using just in time my minimum stock level is going to be based on the lead days". That is lead time setting a reorder level, not a suggested order or start date. Checked 2026-09-18.Reviewed September 18, 2026. | Produces dated buy/make suggestionsThe output is an actionable list with dates, order this much by this date, start this batch on this date. | Partial | The vendor's Xero listing names "Production planning (kanban, MRP)" and automated reorder alerts. That is a feature-list line only: no documentation or screenshot shows suggestions that carry dates. Production planning is in the Production module, $69/month on Core and included on Pro. A 2023 vendor video on AIM (Advanced Inventory Manager) shows replenishment worked out from lead days and minimum stock, with no order-by date on the list. The pricing page sells AIM, described as "Material Requirements Planning (MRP) at both the product & component level", at $149 a month on Core and free on Pro, separately from the $69 Production module. The AIM page says its MRP is "Material requirements planning that factors in your sales commitments, production duration, supplier lead times and production needs". That is vendor marketing text; no public page shows a suggestion carrying a system-computed order-by date, and the help center is login-only.Reviewed October 9, 2026. | Multi-level BOMSub-assemblies inside assemblies, a part that is itself made from other parts, nested as deep as you need. | Yes | An Unleashed Academy page, "Creating multi layered Bills of Materials with Sub-Assemblies", says you can "View, edit and share multi-layered Bills of Materials, and create one assembly per finished product without having to search for and manage disparate transactions within Unleashed or use messy spreadsheets to manage your complex assemblies." | Expiry & shelf lifeBest-before dates on materials and finished goods, with warnings before they lapse. | Yes | The batch numbers API reference says: "Returns batch numbers expired before a specified date." | Product costing & COGSWhat it costs you to make one, and the cost of the goods you sold. | Yes | The vendor states that "landed-cost tracking keeps profit calculations accurate right down to the level of freight and duties." | PurchasingRaising and tracking purchase orders to suppliers from inside the system. | Yes | The vendor's API reference states: "The PurchaseOrders resource allows PurchaseOrders to be listed, viewed and created." | APIA documented programming interface so other software can read and write your data. | Yes | The vendor states: "The Unleashed API is linked to the Unleashed web application". Editorial notes and cautions
Things we would want a friend to know before buying.
- The pricing page no longer lists the $99 Lite plan, which had no production. The real manufacturing entry is Core plus the $69 production module, $468 a month: below Cin7 Core's $599 and Katana's last published $498 (paid pricing is quote-only since 2026-10), above Brahmin's $337 for a business under $1M revenue.
- Extra-user pricing is where the money is. Six users on Core with production is $399, plus $69 for the module, plus three extra seats at $69: $675 a month.
- Much of our capability evidence comes from the API reference and the vendor's Xero listing rather than user guides. Fields there show what the system stores, not always how the planning screens use it.
Alternatives to Unleashed
An alternative is always an alternative for a reason. There is no universal replacement.
- KatanaStronger true MRP
Katana documents a dated "Suggested order by" on its planning add-on, where Unleashed's planning fields are only partly shown. Unleashed delivers BOMs and batch tracking for $468 a month against Katana's last published $498 manufacturing configuration, which has been quote-only since 2026-10.
Compared on Cin7 Core's page, where we wrote: "Unleashed adds its production module to Core for $69, $468 a month in total, where Cin7 Core gates production orders behind an add-on from $599, though Unleashed's manufacturing depth is lower."
Evidence and verification
Pricing verified precisely, including the extra-seat rates that dominate real cost. Rechecked 2026-09-14: production is no longer on every plan, so the manufacturing entry price moved from $99 to $468. On 2026-09-18 capabilities were filled in from the public API reference and the vendor's Xero App Store listing; several rest on API field names rather than written documentation.

What we still want to confirm
We publish our gaps rather than hiding them. If you can point us at a first-party page for any of these, we will update the record and credit the correction.
- Confirm whether MRP suggestions carry a system-computed order-by date. The Advanced Inventory Manager page ($149/month on Core, free on Pro) says its MRP factors in supplier lead times and production duration, but no public page shows a dated suggestion and the help center needs a login.
- The API FAQ still said the API is polling-only on 2026-09-18, contradicting the Webhooks page; re-check whether the vendor corrects it.
Still unknown: capacity planning, recipes & formulas, routings & operations, shop-floor tracking, quality controls, mcp support, csv export, full data export.
