Formerly DEAR Systems, DEAR Inventory. If you were searching for that name, this is the same product.

Manufacturing ERPPasses all 6 Full MRP testsProprietary SaaS✓ Verified

A mid-market inventory and order platform with two quite different manufacturing modes: simple assembly bills of materials included on every plan, and a separate Advanced Manufacturing module with production orders and work centers. MRP supply suggestions are a further module, an add-on on the entry plan.

Why it is classified this way

We call this a Manufacturing ERP product. A broad business system (accounting, sales, purchasing) with a substantial manufacturing or planning module attached.

This product meets our Full MRP tests, but we classify it by its center of gravity rather than its planning engine alone. The capability table below shows the detail.

The six Full MRP tests, and how Cin7 Core does on each (6 of 6)
  1. YesIt represents a bill of materials, recipe, or formula.Evidence: cin7.com › Pricing(opens in a new tab)
  2. YesIt accepts dated demand, sales orders, a forecast, or a master production schedule.Evidence: help.core.cin7.com › Material Requirements Planning MRP(opens in a new tab); help.core.cin7.com › Capacity Planner(opens in a new tab); cin7.com › Pricing(opens in a new tab)
  3. YesIt nets that demand against stock on hand and orders already incoming.Evidence: help.core.cin7.com › Material Requirements Planning MRP(opens in a new tab); cin7.com › Pricing(opens in a new tab)
  4. YesIt explodes requirements through at least one level of the bill of materials.Evidence: help.core.cin7.com › Nested production orders production BOM explosion(opens in a new tab); help.core.cin7.com › Material Requirements Planning MRP(opens in a new tab); help.core.cin7.com › Material Requirements Planning for Production(opens in a new tab)With "BOM explosion" ticked in the MRP supply settings, the MRP run breaks production and assembly BOMs down to their components and suggests supply orders for nested products and components; without it, it suggests production orders for the top level only. From the nested production orders article and the MRP manuals, read through search retrieval on 2026-09-19 because the help center returns 403 to direct fetches. Scope: that setting, and the Advanced Manufacturing add-on.
  5. YesIt uses lead times or required dates.Evidence: help.core.cin7.com › Managing Production Orders(opens in a new tab); help.core.cin7.com › Material Requirements Planning MRP(opens in a new tab)
  6. YesIt produces dated buy, make, transfer, release, or reschedule recommendations.Evidence: help.core.cin7.com › Material Requirements Planning MRP(opens in a new tab); cin7.com › Pricing(opens in a new tab)

These rules are applied identically to every product and enforced at build time, a record cannot be published as Full MRP unless all six pass with a source attached. Read the methodology.

Best for

  • Growing brands that already need multi-channel order management and want manufacturing in the same system
  • Teams of ten or more, where the bundled seat counts start to look reasonable
  • Shops that only need assembly-style kitting, which is included rather than extra

Not a fit when

  • Small shops. $349 a month before the manufacturing module is a serious commitment
  • Anyone who needs production orders and work centers on the entry plan; those are an add-on available only from Pro upward
  • Buyers who need to know the full price up front, since the add-on cost is not published

Useful entry price

Billing basis

Per module

Why the useful price is higher

Standard at $349 includes only the simple assembly BOM, with material requirements planning offered there as a paid add-on whose price is not published. The pricing page lists MRP as included from Pro at $599, which is why that is the realistic entry point for planning. Cin7's MRP help article says MRP needs an add-on without naming a plan; we read that as a general note, but it is worth getting Pro's MRP inclusion in writing. Advanced Production Manufacturing is a separate add-on again, also unpublished, and it is what adds production orders, routings and the shop-floor screen.

What moves the real bill

  • Required add-ons. The manufacturing capability needs: Material requirements planning, on the Standard tier only (price not published), Advanced Production Manufacturing, for heavier production than the included MRP (price not published).
  • Priced per module. The base plan is not the whole system. Check which modules you need.

Pricing detail

Standard $349/month with 5 users, Pro $599/month with 10 users, Advanced $1,199/month with 15 users. Extra users are available on all tiers but the per-user price is not published. Standard Assembly Manufacturing, assembly and disassembly, BOMs, extra units of measure, batch and serial tracking and auto-assembly kitting are included on all three. Material requirements planning is an add-on on Standard and included on Pro and Advanced, according to the pricing matrix. Cin7's MRP help article says "MRP requires an add-on to your base subscription" without naming a tier, which we read as a general note, and adds: "Users whose subscription dates from before 1 February 2024 will continue to have the same level of access to MRP as they previously held." Advanced Production Manufacturing is a further add-on on Pro and Advanced and is marked unavailable ("X") on Standard; its price is not published. Advanced Automations and API access are marked as add-ons on every plan, also without prices. Cin7 Omni is a separate product on quote-only pricing.

Accepts dated demandYou can tell it what is due and when, sales orders with dates, a forecast, or a production schedule.YesCin7 says of the MRP run: "Required by date of the demand should be within planning period" Sales, production, assembly and transfer orders all count as demand when their required-by date falls in the planning period. MRP is an add-on on Standard and included on Pro and Advanced, going by the pricing matrix; the help article's "MRP requires an add-on to your base subscription" names no tier and reads as a general note. Nets against stock on handIt subtracts what you already have before telling you to buy more.YesCin7 says: "The suggested supply orders tab displays the results of the MRP run calculation, based on demand quantity and required by dates, supply rules, planned transfer days, stock on hand, stock on order, and MRP run parameters." Its worked example counts stock on hand and stock on order before suggesting anything. MRP is an add-on on Standard and included on Pro and Advanced, going by the pricing matrix; the help article's "MRP requires an add-on to your base subscription" names no tier and reads as a general note. Counts incoming ordersIt knows about purchase orders and production orders already placed, so it does not tell you to order twice.YesCin7 says: "This adds up all the sources of actual, draft (if requested), compares it to actual and draft (if requested) supply orders, and supply order required by dates." Open purchase, production, transfer and assembly orders count as supply, and drafts can be included. MRP is an add-on on Standard and included on Pro and Advanced, going by the pricing matrix; the help article's "MRP requires an add-on to your base subscription" names no tier and reads as a general note. Uses lead timesIt works backwards from when you need something to when you must order or start it, using supplier and production lead times.YesThe production order help says its release date is worked out as: "From Planned date forward: Planned Date + the critical path among lead times of components" This is for production orders and needs the Advanced Manufacturing add-on. MRP suggestions are dated differently: "Purchase orders from the same supplier to the same location will be consolidated, using the earliest required by date as the date of the purchase order." Supplier lead time is a required MRP input, but no help article says the purchase date is set back by it.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Produces dated buy/make suggestionsThe output is an actionable list with dates, order this much by this date, start this batch on this date.YesCin7 says: "This will generate a list of suggested transfer, purchase, assembly, and purchase orders to meet the demand in each location by the required by dates." Each suggested order carries a required-by date. MRP is an add-on on Standard and included on Pro and Advanced, going by the pricing matrix; the help article's "MRP requires an add-on to your base subscription" names no tier and reads as a general note. Capacity planningChecks whether your people and machines can do the work in the time available.PartialThe vendor states: "The Capacity Planner shows the capacity for a selected planning period, which resources are overallocated, and allows re-planning of capacity." Needs the Advanced Manufacturing module added to a Cin7 Core subscription, which is why this is partial. The Production Scheduler helps "plan in which sequence the operations should be completed": it lists a run's operations in their BOM order with dependencies, places released orders backward from the required-by date, and lets planners reschedule by drag and drop. The calendar view ignores resource capacity; the Production view and the Capacity Planner respect it. Production BOMs, the Scheduler, work centers, resources and MES all come with the Advanced Manufacturing add-on.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Editorial notes and cautions

Things we would want a friend to know before buying.

  • The distinction between the simple assembly BOM and the production BOM is the whole story with this product. A demo that shows you production orders may be showing you a module your quoted plan does not include. Ask explicitly.
  • Cin7's MRP help article says MRP needs an add-on without naming a tier, while the pricing matrix marks it as an add-on on Standard and included on Pro and Advanced. We read the article as a general note, but Cin7 has not said so directly, so check it against your quote.
  • The Advanced Production Manufacturing add-on price is not published anywhere we could find, so the true cost of manufacturing on Cin7 Core cannot be established from public information.
  • This product was DEAR Systems. Reviews and tutorials under that name generally still apply.

Alternatives to Cin7 Core

An alternative is always an alternative for a reason. There is no universal replacement.

  • UnleashedLower cost

Unleashed adds its production module to Core for $69, $468 a month in total, where Cin7 Core gates production orders behind an add-on from $599, though Unleashed's manufacturing depth is lower.

  • Both sell manufacturing as a paid module on top of a base plan; Katana publishes its module prices and Cin7 does not.

Evidence and verification

✓ VerifiedLast checked October 9, 2026 · 92% of capability fields resolved · 100% of those carry a source

Pricing and module gating are sourced from the pricing page. The help-center pages refuse plain fetches, so we read them through the help center's article API. The manufacturing and planning capabilities are now sourced from those articles, and most of them need the MRP or Advanced Manufacturing add-on.

What we still want to confirm

We publish our gaps rather than hiding them. If you can point us at a first-party page for any of these, we will update the record and credit the correction.

  • Obtain the price of the Advanced Production Manufacturing add-on. The pricing page shows only "Add-on" on Pro and Advanced and "X" on Standard, and the help center gives no figure; needs a sales quote or the logged-in My subscription page.
  • Get the add-on prices for MRP on Standard and for Advanced Production Manufacturing on Pro and Advanced. Neither is published, so this needs a sales quote or the logged-in My subscription page.
  • Find out whether quality-control operations record pass or fail results or non-conformances. The help center documents only the Quality control operation type on the production BOM, with no article on recording results; this needs a trial.
  • Price the Automation and Purchase Automation modules that webhooks and scheduled full backups depend on. The pricing page marks Advanced Automations as an add-on on every plan with no figure, so this needs a sales quote. The format of the files inside the backup zip is also not stated.

Still unknown: recipes & formulas, mcp support.
