JobBOSS²
Formerly JobBOSS, E2 Shop System. If you were searching for that name, this is the same product.
by ECI Software Solutions
A quote-to-cash ERP for make-to-order shops, covering estimating, scheduling with capacity visualization, purchasing with material forecasting, quality workflows and mobile shop-floor time tracking, available cloud or on-premise.
Why it is classified this way
We call this a Manufacturing ERP product. A broad business system (accounting, sales, purchasing) with a substantial manufacturing or planning module attached.
It is not labeled Full MRP because we have not verified that it accepts dated demand, sales orders, a forecast, or a master production schedule; nets that demand against stock on hand and orders already incoming; explodes requirements through at least one level of the bill of materials; uses lead times or required dates; and produces dated buy, make, transfer, release, or reschedule recommendations. That is a statement about the evidence we found, not a claim that the product is weak, see the capability table and the sources below.
The six Full MRP tests, and how JobBOSS² does on each (1 of 6)
- YesIt represents a bill of materials, recipe, or formula.Evidence: ecisolutions.com › Jobboss2(opens in a new tab)
- PartialIt accepts dated demand, sales orders, a forecast, or a master production schedule. Not established. Only partly shown: the evidence covers some of this but not all of it, so the test is not established.
- UnknownIt nets that demand against stock on hand and orders already incoming. Not established. No evidence found yet.

These rules are applied identically to every product and enforced at build time, a record cannot be published as Full MRP unless all six pass with a source attached. Read the methodology.

Planning
Working out what to buy or make, and when.
| Capability | Finding | What we found |
|---|---|---|
| Accepts dated demandYou can tell it what is due and when, sales orders with dates, a forecast, or a production schedule. | Partial | In a 2024 vendor demo, purchase order creation lists job material requirements and items below reorder point: "you can easily see all the job requirements and things that are below their reorder points". Job demand feeds purchasing, but the demo does not show dates on those requirements, so partial.Source: Vendor video, 2024, at 0:19(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Nets against stock on handIt subtracts what you already have before telling you to buy more. | Unknown | Not yet researched. We would need: documentation describing a requirement calculation that deducts available stock.Know the answer? |
| Counts incoming ordersIt knows about purchase orders and production orders already placed, so it does not tell you to order twice. | Unknown | Not yet researched. We would need: documentation showing open purchase or production orders included in the supply picture.Know the answer? |
| Uses lead timesIt works backwards from when you need something to when you must order or start it, using supplier and production lead times. | Unknown | Not yet researched. We would need: documentation showing lead time fields that shift a suggested order or start date.Know the answer? |
| Produces dated buy/make suggestionsThe output is an actionable list with dates, order this much by this date, start this batch on this date. | Partial | Described as a "quote-to-cash ERP solution for job shops with MRP functionalities", with auto purchase-order generation and material forecasting. In a 2024 vendor demo, suggestions come from job material requirements plus reorder points, and auto-purchasing creates the POs in bulk: "if I want to see what needs to be ordered for jobs the system will tell me an entire list". The demo shows no dates on the suggestions, lead-time offsetting or netting against open orders.Source: ecisolutions.com › Jobboss2(opens in a new tab); Vendor video, 2024, at 0:26(opens in a new tab)Question this |

Tracing a lot into finished goods was not shown, so partial.Source: Vendor video, 2024, at 0:50(opens in a new tab)Question this |

| Capability | Finding | What we found |
|---|---|---|
| APIA documented programming interface so other software can read and write your data. | Yes | The feature page links a public OpenAPI reference that "Provides a common API surface for accessing ECI ERP JobBOSS²." From its method list, it reads and writes orders, order routings, releases, quotes, estimates, customers, vendors, contacts, work centers and time tickets; purchase orders can be read and updated but not created; job requirements, materials, routings, non-conformances and CAPA are read-only; and materials can be issued to jobs. The documentation is public, but calls need an access token from ECI, so you need an account.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Editorial notes and cautions
Things we would want a friend to know before buying.
- This product has been JobBOSS and E2 Shop System. Older reviews under those names may describe quite different software.
- Quote-only pricing with an enterprise sales motion means a materially longer evaluation than the published-price products here. Budget weeks, not days.
- Three deployment options (multi-tenant cloud, private hosted cloud, on-premise) is genuinely useful if you have data-residency or connectivity constraints.
Alternatives to JobBOSS²
An alternative is always an alternative for a reason. There is no universal replacement.
- FulcrumBetter for job shops
Both target precision job shops with scheduling at the center; Fulcrum is cloud-only and newer, JobBOSS² offers on-premise and a longer track record.
Compared on MIE Trak Pro's page, where we wrote: "Direct competitors in the same segment. MIE Trak Pro documents its MRP module and scheduling modes in a public help center; JobBOSS² offers on-premise as well as cloud."
Compared on Statii's page, where we wrote: "Both target job shops; Statii publishes its prices and sells month to month, where JobBOSS2 publishes nothing and expects an ERP-scale commitment."
Evidence and verification
Capability evidence from the vendor's product page and feature page, with routings, multi-level BOMs, purchasing suggestions and lot numbers taken from the vendor's own 2024 YouTube demos. No pricing is published, so the price is the main gap in this record. What the API reads and writes comes from the method list in ECI's public OpenAPI specification, read on 2026-09-18.

What we still want to confirm
We publish our gaps rather than hiding them. If you can point us at a first-party page for any of these, we will update the record and credit the correction.
- Obtain quoted pricing, including per-seat rates and implementation cost. Nothing is published on ECI's US or Australian pages, so this needs a sales quote.
- Source MRP documentation for inventory netting, scheduled receipts, lead-time offsetting and dated suggestions. A 2024 vendor purchasing demo shows only job requirements and reorder points feeding purchase suggestions. JobBOSS² help is not public, ECI's product FAQ mentions only auto purchase order generation and a Quick View Material Forecast Utility, and the public API documents no planning run, so this needs a demo or a customer login.
- Confirm serial tracking and whether lot numbers trace into finished goods. Neither is publicly documented: the public API schema has lot-number fields on inventory and material records but no serial-number field anywhere. Needs a demo.
Still unknown: nets against stock on hand, counts incoming orders, uses lead times, recipes & formulas, expiry & shelf life, serial numbers, ecommerce connection, webhooks, mcp support, csv export, full data export.
