Evenbatch
by Evenbatch
A QuickBooks Online companion for manufacturers of one to ten people: recipes and BOMs up to two levels deep, production orders that consume component lots first-expired-first-out, lot and expiry tracking with a recall trace, and an approve-before-send sync to QuickBooks. One flat price of $49.99 a month with unlimited users.
Why it is classified this way
We call this a Light manufacturing product. Has bills of materials or recipes, consumes stock when you build, and tracks production, but time-phased planning is not verified.
It is not labeled Full MRP because we have not verified that it accepts dated demand, sales orders, a forecast, or a master production schedule; nets that demand against stock on hand and orders already incoming; explodes requirements through at least one level of the bill of materials; uses lead times or required dates; and produces dated buy, make, transfer, release, or reschedule recommendations. That is a statement about the evidence we found, not a claim that the product is weak, see the capability table and the sources below.
The six Full MRP tests, and how Evenbatch does on each (1 of 6)
- YesIt represents a bill of materials, recipe, or formula.Evidence: evenbatch.com › Quickbooks bill of materials(opens in a new tab); evenbatch.com(opens in a new tab); evenbatch.com › Inventory software for candle and soap makers(opens in a new tab)
- PartialIt accepts dated demand, sales orders, a forecast, or a master production schedule. Not established. Only partly shown: the evidence covers some of this but not all of it, so the test is not established.
- UnknownIt nets that demand against stock on hand and orders already incoming. Not established. No evidence found yet.
- PartialIt explodes requirements through at least one level of the bill of materials. Not established. Only partly shown: the evidence covers some of this but not all of it, so the test is not established.A production order explodes the BOM when you run it ("Production orders explode the BOM"), so component quantities follow the batch. Nothing turns demand for a finished item into component requirements ahead of time, and the vendor says it does no production scheduling. evenbatch.com › Quickbooks bill of materials(opens in a new tab); evenbatch.com › Mrpeasy(opens in a new tab)
- UnknownIt uses lead times or required dates. Not established. No evidence found yet.
- UnknownIt produces dated buy, make, transfer, release, or reschedule recommendations. Not established. No evidence found yet.
These rules are applied identically to every product and enforced at build time, a record cannot be published as Full MRP unless all six pass with a source attached. Read the methodology.
Best for
- Makers of one to ten people who already keep their books in QuickBooks Online and want lots and BOMs without upgrading QuickBooks
- Small food, candle, soap and supplement makers who need expiry dates, FEFO and a recall trace on a single flat price
- Teams that keep growing, since users are unlimited at $49.99 a month
Not a fit when
- Anyone who needs to be told what to buy and when; no planning or reorder calculation is documented
- Products with three or more BOM levels, since nesting stops at two
- Shops that need serial numbers, production scheduling, a storefront sync, EDI, point of sale or multi-currency, all of which the vendor says it does not do

Pricing detail
One plan: "$49.99/month flat — every feature, unlimited users", with a 14-day free trial and no card. The vendor states the price is locked for as long as you stay a customer, with "No per-user fees, no forced annual contract". No annual price is published. The page shows "$" with no currency code; we read it as US dollars. It works with every QuickBooks Online plan, including Free and Simple Start, so no QuickBooks upgrade is needed, but the QuickBooks subscription itself is a separate cost.

Planning
Working out what to buy or make, and when.
| Capability | Finding | What we found |
|---|---|---|
| Accepts dated demandYou can tell it what is due and when, sales orders with dates, a forecast, or a production schedule. | Partial | Sales orders exist: the scope summary lists "production orders, purchase and sales orders". No page says a sales order carries a due date that drives anything, and there is no forecast or production schedule.Reviewed October 9, 2026. | Nets against stock on handIt subtracts what you already have before telling you to buy more. | Unknown | Not yet researched. We would need: documentation describing a requirement calculation that deducts available stock.Know the answer? |
| Counts incoming ordersIt knows about purchase orders and production orders already placed, so it does not tell you to order twice. | Unknown | Not yet researched. We would need: documentation showing open purchase or production orders included in the supply picture.Know the answer? |
| Uses lead timesIt works backwards from when you need something to when you must order or start it, using supplier and production lead times. | Unknown | Not yet researched. We would need: documentation showing lead time fields that shift a suggested order or start date.Know the answer? |
| Produces dated buy/make suggestionsThe output is an actionable list with dates, order this much by this date, start this batch on this date. | Unknown | Not yet researched. We would need: documentation or a screenshot of replenishment or planning suggestions carrying dates.Know the answer? |
| Capacity planningChecks whether your people and machines can do the work in the time available. | No | The vendor rules it out in its own words: "Evenbatch does not do production scheduling or capacity planning."Reviewed October 9, 2026. Production
Recipes, bills of materials, and running the work.
| Capability | Finding | What we found |
|---|---|---|
| Bill of materialsA list of the parts and quantities needed to make one of something. | Yes | The guide says "Evenbatch stores multi-level BOMs (one to two levels) with scrap percentages and per-unit cost roll-up." BOM versioning keeps the old version when a used BOM is edited.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: evenbatch.com › Quickbooks bill of materials(opens in a new tab); evenbatch.com(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Multi-level BOMSub-assemblies inside assemblies, a part that is itself made from other parts, nested as deep as you need. | Partial | Nesting is real but capped: "Multi-level BOMs (one to two levels), so a subassembly can feed a parent item." A product needing three or more levels would not fit.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: evenbatch.com › Quickbooks bill of materials(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Recipes & formulasBatch-style production by weight, volume, or percentage, including scaling a batch up or down. | Yes | Recipes are the BOM: "A recipe is a bill of materials. Eight ounces of wax, one ounce of fragrance, a wick, a jar, a lid, a label." BOMs carry a scrap percentage, and per-item unit conversions let a recipe draw in ounces from stock bought by the case. Batch scaling beyond the run quantity is not described.Reviewed October 9, 2026. | Work / manufacturing ordersA record authorising and tracking the making of a specific quantity. | Yes | Production orders exist and consume stock: "Production orders explode the BOM, consume components first-expired-first-out, and produce output lots with rolled-up cost."Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: evenbatch.com › Quickbooks bill of materials(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Routings & operationsThe ordered steps a product goes through, and which machine or station does each one. | Unknown | Not yet researched. We would need: documentation of operation sequences or routings attached to production.Know the answer? |
| Shop-floor trackingOperators report progress, time, and completions as the work happens. | Unknown | Not yet researched. We would need: documentation of a shop-floor, operator, or terminal interface for reporting production.Know the answer? |
| Quality controlsChecks, tests, holds, and non-conformance records tied to production or receiving. | Unknown | Not yet researched. We would need: documentation of quality inspections, checks, or non-conformance handling.Know the answer? |
Inventory & traceability
Knowing what you hold and being able to trace it.
| Capability | Finding | What we found |
|---|---|---|
| Batch & lot traceabilityWhich incoming material lots went into which finished batch, and where those finished goods went. | Yes | Lots run from receipt to shipment: "Trace any lot from supplier to customer and see exactly who received it." Production orders consume component lots and create output lots, and the recall trace exports to CSV. Included on the one plan.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: evenbatch.com(opens in a new tab); evenbatch.com › Quickbooks lot tracking(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Expiry & shelf lifeBest-before dates on materials and finished goods, with warnings before they lapse. | Yes | Lots carry expiry dates with alerts and FEFO picking: "Purchase orders capture the lot number and expiry date the moment goods arrive." The lot tracking guide adds "Expiry alerts fire before stock goes bad, while you can still sell it, use it, or return it."Reviewed October 9, 2026. | Serial numbersUnique identifiers on individual units, for warranty or field service. | No | The FAQ says so directly: "Lot and expiry tracking is included; serial-number tracking is not."Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: evenbatch.com(opens in a new tab)Question this |
Commerce & accounting
Costs, purchasing, storefronts, and the books.
| Capability | Finding | What we found |
|---|---|---|
| Product costing & COGSWhat it costs you to make one, and the cost of the goods you sold. | Yes | Unit cost rolls up from the lots actually used: "Per-unit cost roll-up. Evenbatch adds up component costs and tells you what one candle or one bar actually costs." Production journal entries carry that cost to QuickBooks Online.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: evenbatch.com › Inventory software for candle and soap makers(opens in a new tab); evenbatch.com › Quickbooks bill of materials(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| PurchasingRaising and tracking purchase orders to suppliers from inside the system. | Yes | Purchase orders are part of the plan and capture lots on receipt: "Purchase orders capture the lot number and expiry date the moment goods arrive." Bills sync to QuickBooks Online.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: evenbatch.com › Fefo inventory management(opens in a new tab); evenbatch.com › Mrpeasy(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Accounting connectionSends financial data to bookkeeping software, or includes its own general ledger. | Yes | QuickBooks Online through Intuit's API: "Evenbatch pushes invoices, bills, and production journal entries to QuickBooks, and imports items, customers, and vendors from it, so your production activity shows up in your books without retyping." Every change can be previewed, approved and rolled back. QuickBooks Desktop is not supported; the product is built for QuickBooks Online.Reviewed October 9, 2026. |---|---|---|
| APIA documented programming interface so other software can read and write your data. | Unknown | Not yet researched. We would need: public api documentation.Know the answer? |
| WebhooksThe system can notify other software the moment something changes. | Unknown | Not yet researched. We would need: documentation of outbound webhooks or event subscriptions.Know the answer? |
| MCP supportA Model Context Protocol server, letting an AI assistant read or act on this data. Useful, but it has nothing to do with whether the product plans materials. | Unknown | Not yet researched. We would need: a first-party mcp server, or documentation of one.Know the answer? |
| CSV exportYou can get your lists out as spreadsheet files. | Yes | The plan lists "Reports & CSV export", and the recall trace exports to CSV.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: evenbatch.com(opens in a new tab); evenbatch.com › Quickbooks lot tracking(opens in a new tab)Question this |
| Full data exportYou can take everything, including history and relationships, not just a few screens' worth of rows. | Yes | The terms say "You can export all of your data as CSV at any time, free of charge, whether or not your subscription is active." The export is CSV, so how lot and BOM relationships come across is not shown.Reviewed October 9, 2026. Source: evenbatch.com › Terms(opens in a new tab)Question this |

Editorial notes and cautions
Things we would want a friend to know before buying.
- Evenbatch is a companion, not a replacement for your books: it needs QuickBooks Online, and that subscription is a separate bill. It works on the cheapest QuickBooks Online plans, so you do not need Plus or Advanced for inventory.
- No storefront or marketplace connection is documented. Sales orders are entered in Evenbatch, so a Shopify or Etsy seller should ask before signing up.
- BOMs go one to two levels deep. That covers a fragrance blend or soap base used in a finished product, but not deeper assemblies.
Alternatives to Evenbatch
An alternative is always an alternative for a reason. There is no universal replacement.
Inventora starts at $19 a month billed yearly and connects Shopify, Etsy and other storefronts as well as QuickBooks; Evenbatch has no storefront sync but includes FEFO and unlimited users at its single price.
- MRPeasyStronger true MRP
MRPeasy plans what to order and when from dated demand and lead times, which Evenbatch says it does not attempt; the trade-off is per-user pricing and a heavier setup.
- StocksmithBetter commerce & accounting connection
Stocksmith connects Shopify, Etsy, WooCommerce, Square, Faire and Amazon and nests BOMs without a stated depth limit, but lot tracking starts at its $99 Indie plan against Evenbatch's $49.99.
Compared on HandiFox's page, where we wrote: "Evenbatch is a QuickBooks Online companion at a flat $49.99 a month whose production orders consume component lots first-expired-first-out, with a recall trace."
Evidence and verification
Why this record is not Verified. Every claim rests on the vendor's marketing pages, product guides and terms; Evenbatch publishes no help center or documentation, and nobody has seen the app. It stays Partially verified until a documentation page or a trial confirms the production and export claims.
Evenbatch has no public help center or documentation site, so every claim here comes from its homepage, product guides, comparison pages and terms of service. The vendor is unusually direct about scope, and its own list of what it does not do (scheduling, capacity planning, serials, WMS, EDI, POS, multi-currency) is quoted as written. Pages were read on 2026-10-09 as raw HTML, which the site serves without JavaScript.

What we still want to confirm
We publish our gaps rather than hiding them. If you can point us at a first-party page for any of these, we will update the record and credit the correction.
- Find out whether sales orders carry a due date and whether anything suggests what to buy or make. No first-party page describes reorder points, low-stock alerts or purchase suggestions inside the app; the reorder point calculator is a free web tool, not an app feature.
- Confirm whether Evenbatch connects to any storefront (Shopify, Etsy, WooCommerce). None is named on the site.
- Confirm whether there is a public API, webhooks or an MCP server. The only API named is Intuit's, used for the QuickBooks sync.
- Confirm what the full CSV export contains, especially lot history, BOM versions and production records.
- Confirm whether production orders record steps, operators or quality checks. Nothing on the site covers routings, shop-floor reporting or QA.
Still unknown: nets against stock on hand, counts incoming orders, uses lead times, produces dated buy/make suggestions, routings & operations, shop-floor tracking, quality controls, ecommerce connection, api, webhooks, mcp support.
